HuRT IED

Brief Description

Most deployed robots are currently operated by humans using teleoperation. However, future DoD concepts envision collaborative human-robot teams (HRTs) where humans and robots are deployed side-by-side as partners on missions that require tightly integrated and choreographed activities. These HRTs will require the team members to adapt to each other, the environment, and the state of the team problem solving process. The HuRT-IED project address a common situation in the military battle field to explore and scan areas for detection and removal of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

HuRT Recon

Brief Description

Most deployed robots are currently operated by humans using teleoperation. However, future DoD concepts envision collaborative human-robot teams (HRTs) where humans and robots are deployed side-by-side as partners on missions that require tightly integrated and choreographed activities. These HRTs will require the team members to adapt to each other, the environment, and the state of the team problem solving process. The HuRT-Recon project focous in a mission where robots need to cooperate and interact to reach a detination location moving in a formation specified by the human-agent. The robots move following a set of waypoints, traverse danger areas, and ultimately perform area reconnaissance before returning homea

Constrained Object Assembly

Brief Description

This project belongs to the collective building construction domain, where the agents need to coordinate their actions to build or assemble an object composed by different types of parts. The agents are deployed in an area where the different parts are located, the agents need to find and transport the parts to the assembly location. The agents build the object while constrains are being satisfied. In particular in this application, we have three types of parts A, B, and C. The constrains are all A parts need to be assemble before any part B, and all parts B need to be assemble before any part C. The abilities to identify and transport the parts are different in each agent.
