my s-10

When my Dad's vet truck finally started coughing up more oil than gas fumes, he gave it me as a fix up job. I glady took the 1989 Chevrolet Pickup and proceeded to put a new engine in it. I transplanted a 4.3 Liter V6 vortec and with the help of my uncle, made it hum again.
It had 96000 miles on it at the time and as I was to find out, was on it's OEM U-Joints. Some bearings were rusted solid others were non-existent. It had a peculiar rattle at highway speeds that surpisingly hadn't shucked out the drive shaft.
After changing the joints I discovered that the 96000 miles was really 96000+9600 as the oversized tires added 10% to the odemeter and speedometer as a nice Highway Patrolmen pointed out to me. (Luckily I escaped with a warning and have since adjusted my view of the speedometer).
Last summer I repaired the air-conditioner and found it again not working this summer, so I have a repair job waiting.
But in the meantime I traded my old Datsun 280Z for a paintjob on my truck and my brother's 1970 Chevelle. His is Deep Amethyst and mine is K-State Purple. It looks so pretty right now.

Let's get back to Matthew's page.
