My first model airplane was a Christmas gift from a friend of Mom's named Michael Barnes. Every year, he would bring my brother and me a new model. I enjoy peicing them together, but can't stand to finish them. I've only gotten one completed with a paintjob.
They used to be hanging from the ceiling with monofiliment, but when my brother and I moved into separate rooms the ceiling space was limited so they acheived shelf status. Here is my collection thus far...
Russian Fighter/Bomber

This was the first model I put together. I've since lost the box and can't even remember the name of the plane..
F4 Phantom Fighter

I put a nifty camoflauge pattern on my F4 Phantom, but the pattern makes it stick out like a sore thumb against my blue walls or black ceiling.
Stealth Fighter

This Stealth Fighter was probably the easiest model to put together. Most of the body is a singular piece. I used some "sticky wall tack"e; to attach the wheels so they actually spin, but I think this thing would be picked up by radar...
V-22 Osprey

My brother and I both made models of the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey. I constructed mine with the props in a liftoff or hover position and Joseph put his together with the props in a forward flight position. Sorry, but I didn't get a picture of his version.
A-10 Warthog

I think this A-10 Warthog is my favorite of all the models (probably because I'm a boy and boys like things that can do a lot of heavy damage in a hurry. This plane is a tank killer. The pilot sits in a titanium bathtub and carries more weaponry than some countries entire armament. I built this one with the cockpit open so that you could see all of the controls and pilot gear easier.
Chevy S-10 Pickup

Yes. You are correct. This is not a plane it is a Chevrolet S-10 pickup. This one is tossed in because I am currently driving an S-10. I put this model together in tricked out style - lowered with extra air dams, wind gaurds, custom mag wheels (which actually spin), rear spoiler... I wanted to be able to see the 4.3 Liter V6 guts of this truck so I made the hood openable. I couldn't get the prop rod to work, so its in a custom "pop-off" style.

My next model is also not a plane. I'm putting togetether a Dodge Viper and no this doesn't mean that I will also be driving a Viper... at least not any time soon.

Let's get back to Matthew's page.
